Halibut

Halibut is the largest of the flatfish family (Pleuronectidae) and one of the largest of the saltwater fish with catches that can weigh up to 660 pounds, although, the average weight of halibut ranges from 25 to 30 pounds. Halibut is a lean fish with a blackish-gray skin that features a smooth, pearly white underbelly which contains few bones. Halibut live in both the North Pacific and the North Atlantic oceans.
Halibut is a firm white meat with a distinctly sweet flavor that caters to the taste buds of many fish lovers. Along with the flavor, halibut has high nutritional value. It is a very good source of high quality protein that is rich with many different vitamins and minerals. It is also a great source of Omega-3 fatty acids.
